NO HUNGER, una veritat encara més incòmoda
No Hunger és una inciativa d’ Acción Contra el Hambre (organització internacional no gubernamental en funcionament des de fa més de 30 anys) nascuda a finals d’octubre de l’any 2008. L’objectiu de la campanya era cridar al món que “podem acabar amb la desnutrició i que els governs i institucions tenen el deure i els recursos per a aconseguir-ho. Però per a que es prenguen mesures urgents és important fer molt de soroll.” Així doncs, es defineix com una gran acció, per acabar amb un gran problema.
Aquesta “gran acció” és la d’aconseguir que Al Gore, tal com va fer amb el canvi climàtic, empre el seu poder mediàtic per vessar l’atenció sobre el drama de la fam. “No Hunger”, el títol de la campanya d’ACH, és també el nom del documental d’Al Gore que encara no existeix, però que es pot fer realitat si li ho “demanem”. La possible pel•lícula ja té un argument i uns clars protagonistes, gent que recolza el projecte i fins i tot un tràiler.
En ell es recorda que hi ha 55 milions de xiquets que sofreixen desnutrició aguda, 19 milions d’ells de forma severa, i que només 3.000 milions d’euros serien suficients per salvar-los d’una mort segura. L’objectiu de la campanya, doncs, és que siguen els ciutadans qui recolzen aquesta iniciativa amb la seua signatura i demanen al guanyador d’un Oscar i del Nobel de la Pau (per la pel•lícula “Una verdad incómoda”) que dirigisca “No Hunger”.
Així, el director general d’ ACH, Olivier Longué, explicà que no es tracta d’una campanya de recaptació de fons, sinó de conscienciació. I afegí que “Al Gore aconseguí que un problema del que tothom havia sentit parlar ja no es puga ridiculitzar. Pogué explicar com canviant unes poques coses és possible obtenir resultats”. En la mateixa línia, Juan Nozioli, director creatiu de l’agencia Shakleton, responsable de la campanya, digué que “els missatges sobre el problema de la fam han deixat de tenir efecte i seria terrible que s’hagués d’esperar una fam massiva per a donar notorietat al problema”. Per aquests motius escolliren Al Gore per la seua campanya, ja que consideraren que algú com ell, que “capitalitza una quantitat brutal de poder mediàtic”, pot dirigir-lo “a un problema encara més important que el canvi climàtic”. A més, la iniciativa també compta amb el recolzament de nombrosos actors i directors de cinema com Fernando Colomo, Juan Antonio Bayona, Julio Medem, Antonio Banderas, Santiago Segura, Emilio Aragón, Belén Rueda i Florentino Fernández, entre d’altres.
La ONG ja ha enviat una carta a Al Gore presentant-li el projecte, sol•licitant que la seua propera pel•lícula es titule “No Hunger” i que els ajude a eradicar la desnutrició infantil. No obstant, l’eina més “potent” amb que conta ACH és Internet, ja que amb la seua ajuda es pot convertir aquesta idea en una iniciativa internacional, i després en una realitat. A data d’avui, ja són 71.985 els internautes que han signat en recolzament del projecte a la pàgina web, creada ad hoc.
Disponible en tres idiomes (espanyol, francés i anglés), conté 7 “pestanyes” diferents: Pídeselo a Al Gore, Campaña, Desnutrición infantil, Enviar a un amigo, Área de prensa, Colabora y Blog. Un dels continguts que se’ns presenta són les tres formes diferents de col•laborar amb la causa:
– Fent un donatiu: 40€ per a un pack nutrició
– Fent-te soci: 10€ al mes per cobrir les necessitats sanitàries bàsiques d’una família
– Difonent la campanya arreu del món: “HAZ QUE TODO EL MUNDO SEPA QUE EL HAMBRE TIENE SOLUCIÓN”

Los gobiernos miran hacia otro lado cuando se trata del tema del hambre, porque no encuentran ninguna solución que no implique poner en peligro las economías nacionales, mientras que el cambio climático puede traer beneficios mediante las energías renovables. Donde no hay beneficios, no interesa intervenir, y por eso AL Gore quizás se oponga a hacer un documental sobre un problema histórico y cada vez más agudizado.
