Ciberactivismo y política
Como hemos estado viendo hasta ahora, el ciberactivismo es una de las mejores herramientas que nos ofrece Internet para difundir nuestras ideas a través de la red e intentar captar el mayor número de adeptos. Y quién mejor que la política podría sacarle tanto partido a este nuevo modo de movilización de la población. Hoy en día todos, o casi todos, los políticos cuenta con un blog personal que les permite acercarse al ciudadano y hacen uso de ellos para, en ocasiones, lanzar campañas de movilización en torno a un problema. Este fue el caso de Alfonso Gil, miembro de la ejecutiva del PSE-EE, que en su blog personal lanzó una campaña bajo el lema “En mi nombre sí”.
Diseñó un pequeño banner en su blog como apoyo al presidente del gobierno cuando éste intentaba establecer la paz, de resolver el conflicto de ETA mediante la negociación. Estas son las palabras que acompañaban a la imagen: “Estoy harto de ver cómo nos insultan, nos agreden, nos vejan allá donde pueden y hasta donde no deben. Por eso, os propongo a todos vosotros, amigos de la verdad, la justicia, y la solución a un problema que ya nos ha asolado durante 40 años. Que apoyéis la campaña a favor de las conversaciones abiertas por el gobierno y respaldadas por todo el arco parlamentario menos el PP. Ya basta de mentiras, intrigas y falsedades, todas ellas encaminadas a socavar la credibilidad de nuestro presidente de gobierno, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, el PSE-EE y todos los que lo componemos. Por eso y por que empieza a ser algo fuera de toda lógica, que en cada momento en el que pueden nos llamen amigos de los terroristas, cómplices, filo nacionalistas, etc. Por todo esto, ¡debemos reaccionar! Solo somos socialistas, que queremos la paz para nuestro pueblo, una paz sin exclusiones, una paz para todos, en síntesis PAZ con mayúsculas. Por eso os pido que enviéis este logo en vuestro correos a todo el mundo que podáis y así revelarnos contra la infamia y la injusticia de un partido que solo y exclusivamente con fines electorales está en una posición carroñera y mentirosa”.
Rápidamente la red se hizo eco de este llamamiento y las redes progresistas acogieron la campaña rediseñando el logo e incluso redactando un manifiesto de apoyo a la campaña. El resultado que consiguieron fue que más de 1.000 bitácoras de todo el mundo replicasen el mensaje. El manifiesto decía lo siguiente:
“NOSOTRAS Y NOSOTROS:
– Grupo de ciudadanas/os, autoras/es de blogs y participantes de distintas redes de bloggers.
– Con ideas muy diversas en lo que respecta al fenómeno de los nacionalismos existentes en el Reino de España y en la República Francesa.
– Defensoras/es de los Derechos Humanos, tal como vienen recogidos en el derecho internacional y en la Declaración Universal de los DDHH.
– Con una cada vez más importante responsabilidad social en tanto que creadores de opinión con mayor o menor influencia.
CONSIDERANDO:
– Que en Euskadi existe un conflicto de convivencia del que el terrorismo, la extorsión, la violencia callejera, los métodos de lucha antiterrorista contrarios a los principios del Estado de Derecho y, en general, cualquier violación de los Derechos Humanos, son su máximo exponente, pero cuyas raíces son de índole política y social y no se limitan exclusivamente a estas manifestaciones violentas.
– Que este conflicto, existente en el País Vasco desde finales del franquismo, ha ocasionado ya demasiadas víctimas y demasiadas violaciones de derechos humanos a demasiada gente.
– Que el conflicto político y social deberá ser solucionado mediante el diálogo entre todos los agentes sociales implicados, de los que ETA no puede erigirse en portavoz. Para la resolución de este conflicto es condición necesaria e indispensable el fin de la violencia.
– Que el alto el fuego permanente anunciado hace meses por la organización Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (ETA) y la voluntad explícita de esta y del Gobierno español de establecer un diálogo supone una oportunidad histórica para poner fin al conflicto vasco.
– Que la decisión del Gobierno español presidido por José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero de dialogar con ETA ha recibido el apoyo por mayoría absoluta del Congreso de los Diputados.
– Que existe una campaña orquestada por los elementos más reaccionarios de la derecha nacionalista española para dinamitar un proceso de paz que aun no ha sido ni tan siquiera iniciado.
– Que dicha campaña se desarrolla en tres frentes: el mediático, el social y el político.
– Que en el plano político los actuales dirigentes del Partido Popular (PP) están elevando deliberadamente el voltaje político mediante un discurso incendiario y demagógico donde el diálogo se presenta como una «rendición» y donde se intenta exhibir firmeza para conquistar votos a lo largo y ancho de la España más conservadora.
– Que en el plano mediático encontramos a diversos medios de comunicación poniendo en duda la legitimidad del Gobierno español democráticamente elegido el año 2004, sembrando dudas sobre supuestas complicidades de este gobierno con los terroristas e insultando y atacando continuamente a los sectores más moderados de la derecha nacionalista española con el objetivo de cortar toda posible adscripción del PP al proceso de paz en el País Vasco.
– Que en el plano social existe una lamentable campaña de instrumentalización de las víctimas del terrorismo etarra a favor de las tesis de los actuales dirigentes del Partido Popular; campaña llevada a cabo por la actual cúpula dirigente del Partido Popular en complicidad con algunos representantes de este colectivo.
AFIRMAMOS, ante esto:
– Que la firmeza del Estado de Derecho y de la democracia no excluye la posibilidad de reconducir por la vía de la negociación a aquellos actores sociales y políticos significativos que se hayan alejado del respeto a la legalidad y a los Derechos Humanos.
– Que, de hecho, la promoción de los valores que están en la base de la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos se consigue dialogando, no excluyendo.
– Que la campaña de los actuales dirigentes de la derecha nacionalista española y de su principal formación política (el PP) responde al interés de estos de que una de sus principales fuentes de votos (el conflicto vasco) siga adelante por más sufrimiento que genere.
– Que el asociar «diálogo» con «rendición» y «traición a los muertos» solo es posible desde una visión belicista y maniquea de la política.
– Que las encendidas proclamas de los actuales dirigentes del PP en el sentido de que «con los totalitarios no se puede negociar, solo se les puede derrotar» demuestran una notable falta de memoria por su parte, habida cuenta de que muchos de ellos provienen de familias políticas cuyos orígenes se encuentran en el régimen fascista de Francisco Franco sin que jamás se les haya oído nunca renegar de esos orígenes o condenarlos.
– Que estos mismos dirigentes del PP muestran mala memoria no solo respecto a sus orígenes sino respecto a su pasado más reciente, olvidando que José María Aznar ya dialogó con ETA a raíz de la última tregua de esta organización en 1998.
– Que las víctimas del terrorismo etarra son un colectivo heterogéneo con ideas muy distintas sobre un posible proceso de diálogo del Gobierno español con ETA; colectivo que no puede ser encapsulado en una sola voz.
– Que, sea como sea, el respeto a las víctimas no puede confundirse con darle la razón a las víctimas: una víctima del terrorismo también puede equivocarse. Muy al contrario: respetar a una persona quiere decir tomarse en serio sus ideas, y esto conlleva precisamente evaluarlas con sentido crítico. La memoria histórica y el respeto a los muertos no obligan a la sordera democrática.
– Que todas las ciudadanas y ciudadanos, las ciudadanas y ciudadanos progresistas pero también las y los conservadores, tenemos la responsabilidad de responder activamente a esta campaña que amenaza con abortar el proceso de paz emergente en el País Vasco,
por tanto, MANIFESTAMOS:
– Nuestro apoyo al inminente inicio del diálogo entre ETA y el Gobierno Español, lo cual no significa renuncia alguna a nuestro derecho a valorar y criticar el concreto desarrollo futuro de este proceso.
– Nuestra gratitud a quien en el pasado, reciente o lejano, apostó por una solución dialogada, enfrentándose no solo a la derecha nacionalista española sino también a la incomprensión e incluso hostilidad de una parte, a veces muy notable, de la Izquierda y la sociedad españolas, e incluso a la propia organización ETA, pagándolo en más de un caso con la vida.
– Nuestra firme convicción de que los obstáculos puestos por la actual cúpula del Partido Popular no rebajarán ni quebrarán nuestras esperanzas de un futuro en Paz para el País Vasco.
– Nuestra voluntad de combatir ahora y siempre a todos los enemigos de la Paz, sea cual sea su credo político y sean cuales sean sus métodos, como parte integrante de nuestro compromiso como izquierdistas.
– Nuestra voluntad de llamar a toda la ciudadanía del Reino de España, sea cual sea su credo político, a movilizarse en favor de la apertura de un proceso de diálogo y paz en el País Vasco que conduzca a la finalización del conflicto vasco y de las violaciones de Derechos Humanos asociadas a éste.

Una campaña que comenzó en el pequeño blog de un político y que se convirtió en cientos de pequeñas micro-campañas que se difundieron rápidamente por la red alcanzando el nivel de una campaña mundial. Pero, ¿puede considerarse esto una forma más de ciberactivismo o una artimaña política más para conseguir sus objetivos? Lo que es cierto es que nació como una campaña de ciberactivismo…
