Ciberactivistas en Greenpeace
«Ser ciberactivista con Greenpeace es movilizarse activamente en la defensa del medio ambiente desde tu ordenador»
Greenpeace es una, de las tantas que existen, asociaciones que promueven la movilización para la defensa del medio ambiente a través de las técnicas del ciberactivismo. En su página web, de la sección de «participación», dispone de un apartado que lleva por nombre «Ciberactivistas«. En él, se ofrece a los visitantes la posibilidad de de registrarse y pasar a formar parte de esta manera de la comunidad de ciberactivistas de Greenpeace.
Si te registras, te envían las propuestas de actuación en la que, desde tu ordenador, puedes sumarte y contribuir a esas causas medioambientales. Con la participación de estas personas han conseguido «paliar algunas de las agresiones más graves contra el medio ambiente, sensibilizar sobre los ecosistemas más vulnerables o promover leyes para la necesaria protección de nuestro entorno». Entre otras, se han puesto en marcha campañas para proteger las últimos refugios de la vida marina, campañas por el clima, para proteger al atún rojo, para pedir el cierre de la planta incineradora de Zabalgarbi o para el rechazo de arroz transgénico.
En todo el mundo, hay actualmente registrados 50.437 usarios, como se puede observar en la imagen anterior como el ciberactivismo se extiende, en mayor o menor medida, por el resto de países del mundo. Sólo en España hay registrados 22097 usuarios.
Cada día son más las personas que se suman a este tipo de movilizaciones que con las nuevas herramientas de Internet hacen que la participación resulten, cada vez más, simples y cómodas.

Greenpeace, una de las principales asociaciones de activismo a nivel mundial, no podía faltar en promover su movimiento/actividad vía el mundo cibernético. Me ha gustado la entrada. 😉

La verdad es que me parece muy bien que asociaciones como Greenpeace usen la red para este tipo de cosas. Antes quizá para ser miembro te tenías que comunicar con ellos por carta, o acudir a algún centro, ahora desde tu casa puedes contribuir un poquito a mejorar el mundo.

Està molt bé això de ser ciberactivista, però trobe que si no es complementa amb una actitud coherent amb els ideals a la vida real no té massa sentit…

Estoy con Felip, la comodidad que supone el ciberactivismo puede llegar a bloquear la acción real de cara a cambiar un poco el mundo. Es muy fácil clamar contra las injusticias desde el anonimato, pero donde se puede hacer algo realmente es en la calle. Muy buena entrada, por cierto 🙂

És cert que allò més important no és «ciberactuar», sinó «actuar», físicament, dia a dia. El que ocorre és que la xarxa facilita la comunicació, la unió de propostes, de decissions. Però, evidentment, ser ciberactivista no ha de ser una cosa aïllada a la resta de la teua vida. No és molt lògic que t’unisques a la lluita per la defensa del medi ambient (per exemple) a la Xarxa, i que després vages deixant brossa pel carrer la resta de la teua vida «cotidiana».

No me ha quedado claro lo que muestra el gráfico. ¿Es el número de usuarios que hay en cada país? No tiene sentido que en Alemania sólo hayan 31 ciberactivistas y en un país mucho menos concienciado como es España hayan unos 50 mil. ¿O se refiere al número de ciberactivistas inscritos a una causa concreta de Greenpeace?

ACTUALIZACIÓN: Tenías razón, el dato estaba mal puesto. Los 50 mil usuarios son en todo el mundo. Aunque sólo en España hay 20 mil usuarios registrados, a priori parece que estamos más concienciados de lo que pensamos.

Pero en concreto que hace un ciberactivista de greenpeace de diferente de un activista normal? Hay acciónes que se realisan solo en la red o simplemente la red es un instrumento para comunicar y realizar las normales acciónes da la asociación?
